Rapid Response Teams
Our partnerships enable the deployment of rapid response teams to areas hit by natural disasters, providing immediate assistance and relief.
Community Rebuilding
Starfish Disaster Recovery volunteers are instrumental in rebuilding infrastructure and homes, helping communities recover and thrive post-disaster.

Powering Starfish: Our Funders
AmeriCorps NCCC: Since September 2023, Americorps NCCC has provided Starfish Disaster Recovery with 6 teams. This in total has provided Madison County, FL and Letcher County, KY with over $1.3 million dollars in services- at no cost.
AmeriCorps VISTA: Starfish Disaster Recovery was provided with a VISTA who assisted in fundraising, grant writing, and outreach through a grant with AmeriCorps.
Department of Labor, Dislocated Workers Grant: Provided Starfish Disaster Recovery with funding necessary to hire labor to assist Madison County, FL following damage from Hurricane Idalia. This provided 11 full-time jobs displaced workers within the county.
Foundations Worksite Intiative (WEX) Grant: This grant provided Starfish with 2 full-time workers.
Presbyterian Disaster Assistance Grant: Starfish was provided $7.5K to assist Madison County, FL with relief efforts following Hurricanes Debby and Helene. Resources were used to supply the county with tools, construction supplies, tarps, and gasoline.
Madison Long Term Recovery Group Grant: MLTRG provided Starfish Disaster Recovery with a $5k grant to assist Madison County, Florida. MLTRG also assister Starfish by providing necessary supplies for AmeriCorps teams within the county.
AmeriCorps: Sustainability through Service
Our collaboration with AmeriCorps is pivotal in providing continuous recovery services following natural disasters. Through partnerships, Starfish Disaster Recovery has been able to deploy AmeriCorps NCCC teams to disaster impacted areas as well as acquiring an AmeriCorps VISTA to assist in expanding Starfish’s mission.
By sponsoring AmeriCorps teams and positions, Starfish is able to ensure that communities receive the help they need to rebuild and recover, demonstrating our commitment to making a difference, one community at a time.
